Mr Brainwash (Part of task 1)

Some might say that Mr. Brainwash is the american Banksy. Others might say he is just copying what Warhol did in his golden years - they are probably right. Similarities are vast in their work, as they are all known for using cultural icons and mixing them up together in a blander of creativity resulting in strong images that can be, humorous, controversial and fun.
Like Banksy, his art show Life is Beautiful, in 2008, was completely independent from any galley, museum or sponsorship of any kind. The event was extremely busy in Los Angeles, and the street artist is becoming extremely popular, the same thing his work material is, pop stars and well known cultural icons. Perhaps this is a big difference with the British street artist, Banksy who prefers to have his identity on secret.
It is perhaps with Andy Warhol that the artist is closer to, after all the Pop art legend plays a very big role on MBW's work. The famous colouring from the artist seen in Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor and others. Now the French street artist uses a graffiti style used in a more graffiti way in recent pop icons from now, like Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and the artist that served as inspiration, Warhol. But probably the one that I find very interesting is where the American Politics are Marilynized in a very satirical poster.
